Camping in the Andes


2 day camping experience

There are various spots to camp near Lima, in the middle of the Andes mountain range. Huancaya landscape reserve, a protected natural area with numerous waterfalls and crystal blue lagoons. Another spot is Rupac, also known as the "Machu Picchu of Lima", a pre-inca culture dating 1000 B.C.

  • Entrance/overnight camping fees: All entrance/toles and other fees are covered. You are good if you bring no cash at all. However, tip is always appreciated. 

What to bring

  • Comfortable and moisture wicking clothing

  • Hiking boots

  • Sleeping bag

  • Trekking poles 

  • Lightweight sandals (to hang around campsite)

  • Bottle/container for water
